From time to time one will see the occasional Masonic medal or jewel which has left Masonic hands for some reason or another, at collector's fairs, flea markets and antique shops. These are usually purchased by collectors and are often offered back to the original Lodges.
Collecting jewels has a fascinating interest, which leads to a greater awareness of the role of jewels and their history, relative to the individual bodies in Freemasonry.
The JEWELS of the CRAFT (JOTC) was formed in 1990 by a number of Masons with a common interest in Masonic Jewels. To assist individual collectors, members receive a quarterly informative journal entitled "The Diadem" accompanied by a list of jewels for sale or exchange by our members. The members also meet twice yearly at Birmingham (see Meetings).
